Erin Barry is a law graduate, a child rights advocate, and the ex-wife of Brent Barry, a former NBA shooting guard with the San Antonio Spurs who won two league titles.

From the late 1990s through the early 2010s, Erin and Brent were married and had two children together. Her ex-basketball husband’s career took him to five different teams over the course of 11 years, and the former followed him. Erin developed a sense of solidity in each new city, making their life less nomadic and more grounded.

All of that changed in the late 2010s when Erin was identified as the lady at the center of actress Eva Longoria and Tony Parker’s divorce. The pinnacle of this long-ago saga was Erin and her ex-husband, Tony (a former Brent teammate), exchanging hundreds of sexually explicit text messages for almost a year.

Know what the real concerns were in the following headings. Determine whether Brent’s ex-wife was truly unfaithful to her ex-NBA husband. Also, read about her early life, including how she met the 1996 Slam Dunk champion and other details.

Erin Barry was Adopted

Mrs. Barry was born somewhere between 1972 and 1973. Erin has previously stated that she was born to a single teenage mother.

Her original mother, on the other hand, later donated her to an Irish-Polish couple who went on to have three biological children.

“It was kind of obvious. Here I was with my dark hair and olive complexion in this Irish-Polish family.”

Erin has never mentioned her biological mother, but she does admit to spending several days with her following the birth. The now 48-year-old attended an all-girls Catholic school while growing up in a small hamlet outside San Francisco.

She received her higher education at the University of Oregon, where she majored in English literature. In addition, she went to law school.

When her ex-husband, Brent, was playing for the Bulls, she was also a court-appointed special advocate and juvenile-court caseworker in Chicago. She worked in similar capacities in Seattle and San Antonio, eventually focusing on abused and neglected children.

Erin Barry and her husband Brent Barry’s Relationship

Mr. Brent, Erin’s ex-husband, and she met in high school while the former was a student at an all-girls Catholic school in San Francisco. The latter was a student at an all-boys school directly across the street.

Erin once claimed in an interview that she and Brent first fell in love when they were 16 years old. They went to see “Christmas Vacation” by National Lampoon on their first date.

Erin followed Brent, her high school boyfriend, through each of his five teams. The former intended to attend the University of Oregon after high school. Brent also received a basketball scholarship at Oregon State, which is close by.

Brent married Erin in a cathedral wedding in San Francisco in 1998, following his first couple of seasons in the NBA. Quin and Cade were born to the couple when they were married.

The couple Advocated against Child Abuse

While in San Antonio, Brent and his ex-wife Erin participated in a number of charitable projects aimed at preventing child abuse.

During their years together, the Vice President’s ex-wife did a lot of charitable work and brought her husband in as frequently as she could, taking use of his position to draw more attention to important causes. Erin largely worked as an advocate for abused children while still married to Brent, first as a caseworker and then as a political lobbyist.

She became a court-appointed special advocate and a juvenile court caseworker when her ex-husband played basketball in Chicago. When she and the ex-Spurs no 17 relocated to Seattle, she established a precedent for similar work. To elaborate, Erin and the NBA shooting guard relocated to San Antonio in 2004 in the wake of a string of high-profile child abuse and neglect cases.

When the ex-couple arrived, the mother of two joined the Blue Ribbon Task Force’s executive committee. State Representative Carlos Uresti and Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed were her bosses at the time.

She was also in a setting that was distinct from the hands-on casework she was used to. Erin later worked in a more political context, assisting in the writing of a House bill that would be sent to Austin.

She then became involved in lobbying efforts at the state level, where she worked alongside legislators who were attempting to fix a failing child welfare system.

Erin Barry as an Activist

Senate Bill 6, which mandates broad change for Child Protective Services, is one of the most prominent legislative outcomes of former Mrs. Barry’s work.

In collaboration with the task committee, Erin and Brent launched “Barry’s Blue Ribbon Assists,” a fund-raising campaign that operated under the Spurs Foundation.

They raised thousands of dollars and secured corporate sponsorships through that channel, allowing them to host an annual 5k run/walk and provide tickets to each Spurs home game exclusively for CPS caseworkers and their guests.

The adoptive daughter of Irish-Polish parents was elected to the Bexar County Child Welfare Board in 2005. She soon became a member of the Heart Gallery of San Antonio’s steering group, which featured the faces and stories of children awaiting adoption.

Why did Erin and Brent Divorce?

Erin filed for divorce from Brent on Oct. 29, 2010, in San Antonio, after twelve years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

At the time, the two’s breakup was hot news in the tabloids. Brent’s then-Spurs colleague Tony Parker and his ex-wife, actress Eva Longoria, were also contacted.

As a result, it’s widely assumed that the breakdown in the marriages of the aforementioned two couples began when Parker and Erin’s infamous romance became public knowledge.

The divorce of Longoria and her ex-husband, Parker, occurred at the same time as the separation of the former Barry couple.

Longoria, who plays Erin on Desperate Housewives, discovered Erin and Parker’s text exchanges and filed for divorce after only three years of marriage.

Longoria’s divorce was reportedly prompted by a slew of sexual texts, according to those close to her. Long-distance dating and Parker’s early infidelity had already strained their relationship.

Erin and Tony allegedly had an explicit textual interaction for about a year, according to multiple sources, but those are the only things on which everyone can agree.

Parker and Erin never got physical, according to reports. Tony and Barry were colleagues and buddies at the time while playing for the San Antonio Spurs. When the news broke, hundreds of people took to Facebook to criticize Parker for his infidelity.

Erin Denied Dating Tony

‘I DID NOT HAVE AN AFFAIR WITH TONY PARKER, nor did I “pursue” Tony Parker. Unfortunately, because our divorces are occurring at the same time, great speculation has been cast on our friendship.

She went on to say that her friendship with Tony Parker had nothing to do with her divorce from Brent. People presuming they had an affair, she said, were naive, foolish, and absolutely mistaken.

Erin later resorted to Facebook to express her displeasure with the whole affair story. The Oregon University graduate claimed that she would rather devote her time to disadvantaged children and their health, as well as her family and friends.

Despite this, she and Brent divorced on January 5, 2011, in Texas, and decided to share joint custody of their two small children shortly after.

Their divorce papers also revealed that the pair signed a confidential prenuptial agreement before getting married, specifying how they would divide their assets.

Erin got $4000 per month in child support until 2013, with the understanding that she would be self-sufficient three years after graduating from law school.

Has Erin Barry Married again?

While Erin’s former partner, Brent, is now a VP of his former team, the SA Spurs, little about Erin herself has appeared in internet summaries or among such correspondents, at least in recent times.

And, while Erin’s ex-husband is a frequent user of social media with his Twitter handle, the mother of his two children is virtually unknown in such circles.

As a result, it would be extremely disconcerting if Erin is married or has a new husband in the present day. What isn’t in the records is the current location of erstwhile Mrs. Barry; her line of employment; or whether she is currently working to prevent child abuse.

Tony Parker, on the other hand, with whom Erin was once thought to be having an affair, has a new partner, Alize Lim, a French tennis player. In the case of Tony’s renowned ex-wife, Eva, she is currently married to Jose Baston, whom she married in 2016.
