Elizabeth Woolridge Grant was born on June 21, 1985, to Robert England Grant Jr., and Patricia Ann “Pat” (née Hill) in Manhattan, New York City. She went by the name Lizzy Grant to her loved ones throughout her childhood. She is the oldest daughter of three of her parent’s children. Lana’s sister goes by the name Chuck but her real name is Caroline Grant. In the same way, she has a younger brother, Charlie Grant.

In her elementary years, Del Rey went to St. Agnes School followed by Kent School, and Fordham University in The Bronx.
