The producer of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ says he would ‘love’ to see Johnny Depp return to the franchise.

All five films in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise have been produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

In a recent interview, the movie producer who worked on all five “Pirates of the Caribbean” films stated that he would like to see Johnny Depp reprise his role as Jack Sparrow.

Jerry Bruckheimer spoke with the Hollywood Reporter earlier this week about his long career producing blockbuster films like “Top Gun” and “Armaggedon.” Bruckheimer was asked if Depp was “someone a studio like Disney would put front and center again in a ‘Pirates’ sequel?”

“You’d have to inquire with them. I’m afraid I can’t answer that question “According to Bruckheimer. “I honestly don’t know. I’d love to have him in the film. He’s a friend and a fantastic actor, and it’s unfortunate that our personal lives infiltrate everything we do.”

In June, a jury found both Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard liable for defamation. But awarded Depp nearly $8 million more in damages.

The legal battle began in 2018 when Depp sued Heard for defamation over an op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post alleging domestic abuse. Depp claimed the op-ed harmed his reputation and cost him a substantial amount of money and potential film roles.
