As per sources, she had to leave the show just before the finale because her father had gotten sick. There were also rumors that she, herself was sick which made her leave the show.

In an interview, Yvette Nicole Brown disclosed that she suffered from Diabetes while being a cast at Community. She shared that she used to eat a lot of sugar-contained foods while shooting which ultimately gave her type 2 diabetes.
After she realized she was just compromising her own health, she decided to make a change. She quit her show Community and then gave more focus on improving health. In addition, she dialed down the amount of sugar intake and started exercising more.
